Mental Health Nurse

Our mental health nurse provides rapid assessment of mental state, risk assessment and provides treatment planning and further signposting. Currently our mental health nurse only sees patients over 12 years of age.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) are experienced and highly skilled senior nurses with advanced clinical skills. The role combines advanced nursing skills with clinical, diagnostic and treatment skills. ANPs are able to prescribe within their own clearly defined remit, and have access to GPs for advice and support and will consult them as needed. ANPs deal with patients with an acute (or short term) illness such as abdominal pain, allergies, back pain, chest infections, coughs & colds, diarrhoea & vomiting, ear infections, eye infections, emergency contraception, fever, gout, headaches & migraines, insect bites, skin problems & rashes, shingles, STDs, and urinary infections.

Nurses

Our Practice Nurse provides services including Asthma, Blood Pressures, Cervical Smears, Child Immunisations, Cholesterol Checks, Contraceptive Injections, COPD, Diabetes, Flu, Health Promotion, Healthy Heart Advice, Hypertension, Lung Function Tests, Well Man and Well Woman Advice. When asking for an appointment to see a Practice Nurse, please provide our Patient Advisor with brief information about the reason for your appointment so that you are given an appointment in the appropriate clinic.

Healthcare Assistants

Our Healthcare Assistants takes blood and other specimen samples from patients to send to laboratories for diagnostic testing. Other duties include Blood Pressure reviews, New Patient Reviews and recall of patients who require periodic reviews for chronic medical conditions.
