Appointments System

We have recently implemented a new Triage Appointment System to ensure that those who need to physically see someone will do, and therefore cut the waiting time for these appointments.  This system has been proven to make the process more efficient for both patients and staff.

How does it work?

Step 1:  Call the Practice and speak to one of our Patient Advisors on 01835 863 361.  They will ask you some questions in order to direct you to the most appropriate Clinician.

Step 2:  A trained Clinician will phone you and talk to you about your condition.  The Clinician will then be able to determine if you need to see someone in Practice or not. This may be a GP or an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Step 3:  If required, the Clinician will invite you to attend the practice at a suitable time.  We are currently following COVID guidelines for the protection of other patients as well as our staff.

Please note that the Patient Advisor may direct you to another Healthcare provider if appropriate.  This may be via NHS24, an optician or dentist, or another healthcare provider such as a Practice Nurse, Physio or Pharmacist.

Online Booking

GP appointments can also be booked on line via the link at the top of this page.  Please note that this has been temporarily suspended.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect if you do need a home visit you can help us by calling reception before 10:00am.

Home visits are at the discretion of the Doctors, and you may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice.

The GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.
